Overall Winner and Best in Your People Category

Thank you to all those who have entered the competition. It is a pleasure to see the work and celebrate such wonderful photographic talent from around the country. The number of entries to the competition this year was the highest we have ever had, and the quality and variety of work entered is fantastic to see. A huge thank you to the teachers and lecturers who were kind enough to share the competition open call and encourage students to take part. As always, we would also like thank the students, alumni and staff for their diligence and care in judging the competition.

We are really pleased for all the Highly Commended entrants whose images can be seen on our London Met BA Photography Website and of course for the finalists, whose work is also printed in this year’s Socket Magazine.

Congratulations to Olivia Lowe from St John Rigby College who has won the Your Places category and to Mabel Cooperspice from Stoke Newington Sixth Form, winner of the Your Things section. Both have produced beautifully observed and layered images.

And finally. We are delighted to announce that the overall winner of the competition and the Your People section is Alfie Cafferkey Dawson from Long Road Sixth Form. Congratulations to Alfie on his wonderful winning portrait and to the Photography team at Long Road.
